Tom Egbert graduated Sigma Cum Laude from Brigham Young University in 1982. His major was Design and Graphics Engineering Technology. He has had a wide range of experience in various disciplines throughout his working career. He learned residential architecture and construction methods from his father while building custom homes prior to graduating from college. He has worked in the capacity of a mechancal engineer assisting in the design of land leveling equipment and as a software engineer in the AE&C division of a computer-aided engineering software development firm owned by General Electric. Prior to returning to architecture he enjoyed a successful career as a computer systems analyst for Computer Sciences Corporation. Tom lives by the mantra that if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing right. As a result, he has enjoyed great success and rich rewards throughout his career as an employee. But, Tom always had a burning desire to operate his own business and to be his own boss. To accomplish this, Tom picked up his family and left a long career in southern California, came to Idaho, and founded Skyline Design.
Tom has established himself as a Residential Designer specializing in the design of homes that use insulated concrete forms (ICF). Tom has also managed to balance his office work with hands on installation of ICF foundations and wall systems, partnering with his brother, Wayne Egbert, who is the area representative for Logix Insulated Concrete Forms in Idaho. Because of this experience, Tom becomes the logical choice as a designer of ICF homes in the southeastern Idaho area. He knows how to optimize the design to cut down on waste and maximize the overall enjoyment of the finished product.
